Y3K is a futuristic aesthetic and style that includes (but is not limited to) a hybrid of experimental chromes, metals, color combinations, and bold graphic elements. It draws inspiration from the new millennium and a digital playground—an ever-evolving space that’s constantly changing. With a strong foundation in technology and a hyper-focus on new-age creativity, this fun aesthetic continues to inspire innovation. It’s about thinking beyond.
Nails have long been tiny canvases for big artistic ideas. Regular salon visits for gel/acrylic nails every 2 weeks to a month can become both time-consuming and costly. The advantage of press-on nails is that they are reusable, causing minimal damage to your natural nails while saving you time. You can cut 2-3 hours of salon time down to just 10-15 minutes. Of course, there are some cons—press-on nails aren’t as strong as professionally applied salon nails, so avoid things like opening a can of soda. But let’s focus on the benefits: you can reuse them. In the past, when I had to remove my nails, it always felt like throwing away pieces of art I’d love to wear again and again.
Press-on nails are perfect for those with limited time who want artistic nails for a special event or a night out, but don’t need them for everyday wear. Personally, I’m in love with long stiletto nails, but I type a lot during my day, and those daggers do not chill with my workflow. However, you can adjust the style to fit your lifestyle. These press-on nails come in various sizes, shapes, and lengths—from short to medium to long.

Futuristic mixture of the cyber, the 3D, and the gothic. In love. Set can be seen here.
This set caught my eye because of the use of neutral tones contrasted by the metallic designs and transparent gels. Like ugh, it’s so beautiful. View the design here.
This set has purple, opalescent and ombre paints with metallic designs, crystals, and pops of clear 3D gel. See them here.
Transparent/translucent nails look really cool when done right. This is done right. Smoothed draws of gel, encrusted gems, and of course, metallic. Playing with transparent nails are a little harder than opaque ones. I recommend more practice before going all in with these. The adhesive/sticker that goes along with nails can be hard to stick 100% even to these types of press-ons, making it peak through the design and ruin the aesthetic.
