I love the idea of solid perfumes. This post was inspired by Jo Malone’s solid perfumes, which are unfortunately discontinued. When I was looking for another Jo Malone solid fragrance to add to my collection, I audibly gasped with a defeated, “Nooooo.” So, I went hunting for alternatives.
Finding those signature fragrances is a fun journey within beauty. Every trip I take, I religiously pick out a new fragrance to bring with me, spritzing it every day while I’m on vacation. That way, when I want to relive those memories, I can spray the exact fragrance and be transported back mentally. It’s like a trigger for a nice reminiscence.
Especially when you’re out and about, a solid perfume checks all the boxes. It’s compact, small, and less fragile than skinny glass roll-ons or regular glass bottles. A good perfume isn’t cheap, but the touch of solid perfume allows for controlled, precise application. Plus, the packaging is often cute and minimalist. I obviously didn’t want to gatekeep these so here are 7+ beautifully packaged solid perfumes I found, each with its own unique scent profile:
Available at: Wolf & Badger, Etsy, and Roots Rose Radish
This brand is a woman-owned, small business that offers a collection of fresh, floral, woody, and fruity scents. While searching for solid perfumes, I started wondering about unique packaging. I had a thought about seashell, oyster, or clam encasings. And, of course, a baddie out there has already made it! Just looking at this seashell-inspired perfume makes me feel like a whimsical, eccentric mermaid. I can totally picture Phoebe Buffay carrying this in her bag. If Phoebe were an influencer, I’d buy whatever she recommended. I love that character, and this perfume definitely gives off those Phoebe vibes.
Available at: Free People and Earth Tu Face
Similar to the brand above, we have another small fragrance company that also encompasses their signature scents in a seashell vessel. This brand’s solid perfumes feature scents like Jasmine, Geranium/Vetiver, and Leaves/Wood. Finding these uniquely packaged solid perfumes was one of the best things I’ve searched for in beauty because of how niche they are. These seashell solids probably sit prettily on a mermaid’s vanity right now.
3. TENTH MUSE ($33–$68)
Available at: Etsy and Tenth Muse
For the minimalist who loves aesthetics and function—Tenth Muse from London offers beautiful, conscious fragrances that prioritize the health of your skin and the environment. These chic, refillable perfumes are an experience. Each scent is described with keywords like delicate, refined, and uplifting for their “clean girl” perfume; magnetic, poetic, and addictive for their “date night” scent; or captivating, warm, and impulsive for their “Vanilla Afterglow.” They have scents for whatever you’re looking for, all while valuing safety, sustainability, and ethics.
4. ODESSE ($37–$109)

Available at: Odesse
Traveling to Australia, we find Odesse. This is another refillable solid perfume brand that fits sustainability, simplicity, and practicality. With ingredients like vitamin E, jojoba, and beeswax, the perfume feels as smooth as it smells. Reviews rave about its long-lasting wear, ease of layering, and how it melts easily into the skin. No wonder most of them are sold out!
5. TAMBURINS ($50-$85)
Available at: eBay
The viral perfume balms from Korea. I first saw them on Instagram, and the packaging was just too cute to ignore. But they don’t just capture attention with their campaigns. They’ve gone a step further with immersive art exhibitions throughout their launch. The official store ships only to Korea, and their retail locations are limited to South Korea, China, and Japan. Luckily, I found them on eBay!
6. DIPTYQUE ($60)
Available at: Nordstrom and Diptyque
From Paris, we have Diptyque. This brand has made a name for itself with fragrances that are the product of a friendship trio bonded by their love for imagination, creativity, and nature. Their scents come in compact, oval-shaped vessels adorned with beautiful art pieces for each one. With a Diptyque solid perfume, you’ll carry artful scents with you wherever you go.
7. FULTON & ROARK ($60)
Available at: Fulton & Roark
The names of these unisex scents instantly captured my curiosity. Names like *Lost Man*, *Sterling*, *Devil’s Garden*, and *HWY 190* aren’t just intriguing—they tell a story. This is what many fragrance brands aim to capture: a memory, an idea, or a moment in time. There’s *The Window*, a scent inspired by the art of noticing; *226 Club*, a tribute to unforgettable nights at underground Chicago bars; *Cloudland*, an homage to a summer rainstorm and the intimacy of touch; or something simple like *Blue Ridge*, inspired by a love for sandalwood.
8. FOR STRANGE WOMEN ($18-$60)
Available at: Etsy and For Strange Women
“Mwuhahaha” is all I could let out when I saw this brand’s perfumes. They have names like *Decadence & Debauchery*, *Astral Projection*, *Siren*, *Persephone*, *London Fog*, and *Vixen*. They have full sized solid balms and these cute mini versions. Sometimes, I just want to buy perfumes because of the names. I love the brand, love the perfume names, and love the aura of the witchy.
9. GLOSSIER “YOU” ($35)
Available at: Sephora and Glossier
A not so small brand, but one of the ultimate “clean girl” perfumes. It’s so clean that sometimes it’s barely detectable. Reviews are mixed—some say they can’t smell it at all, while others report that it slowly blooms and becomes addictive once you get used to it. This scent grows on you, with many users saying they’re obsessed.
10. FENTY BEAUTY ($68)
Available at: Sephora and Fenty Beauty
Warm and spicy, just like the queen herself. Fenty Beauty’s solid perfume is luxuriously packaged with notes of magnolia, musk, and Bulgarian rose. If you love the signature Fenty fragrance, you’ll likely enjoy this on-the-go version, easy to pack and perfect for everyday wear.
And this ends my solid perfume hunt for now. Remember to pin this blog or save the links to capture your new scent! xx
