There’s just something magical about spring and summer—the way the sun stays out longer, our schedules feel lighter, and everything feels a little more alive. It’s the perfect time to make new memories with your girlfriends. Whether you’re in your soft girl era, your healing era, or your chaotic wine-sipping giggle era—this list of unique, easy, and meaningful activities will have you calling the group chat ASAP.
What cuter thing is there to do with the gals than making friendship bracelets (or necklaces) for one another? Thoughtful designs could include their favourite colours, charms (like stars or hearts), or strung words expressing an inside joke. It taps into that sweet childhood moment when life was all about arts and crafts and giggles. Plus, who doesn’t want a wearable reminder of your bond?
2. Pottery, Clay, or DIY Jewelry Workshops

This whole blog post was inspired by this one—I recently did a pottery workshop with my two close gfs. We all wanted to try it, so I booked an easy class where you pick a pre-made piece and just paint it. Some workshops even collab with restaurants so you can paint, eat, yap, and sip wine. It was such a vibe. Most people came in groups, and there was this unspoken girlhood energy—everyone chatting about creativity, bonding, and life. If you want to try something more hands-on, you can level up with clay, ceramics, or jewelry-making workshops. So worth it—and many local studios have great deals!
If you’re in Vancouver 🇨🇦, I went here. They had a current brewery collab that welcomed painting AND eating. Def should do more of that. The studio also has a “hug vase” workshop where you and your friends literally hug a vase into its shape. Made with the power of friendship.
3. Paint Night at Home (With Wine + a Cheese Board)

Instead of attending a traditional paint-and-sip night, bring it home. It’s budget-friendly, you choose your own vibe, be as loud as you’d like, and you can go all out on the cheese and wine. One hilarious idea I saw on TikTok: paint each other, then reveal and gift the portrait at the end. It was originally for couples, but um—girl friendships deserve that same chaotic energy and laughter. If you’re in a big group, draw names from a hat to see who’s painting who.
Here’s a simple Pinterest search to get you started on some easy paint night ideas.
Amazon paint night shopping list:
– Canvases (value pack)
– Paint brushes, acrylic paints, palettes (value pack)
– Empty cups/jars filled with water to clean brushes while painting
– Paper towels or microfibre cloths
– Large sheet to cover the painting area for easy clean up. You can also use a large bed sheet that you no longer need
– Easels value pack. Not exactly needed, but something your back would appreciate.
You can also grab these items at your local dollar store or local art store. The local art stores should also have super affordable (and better quality) brush sets.
4. Blanket Fort Movie Night

Nothing screams cozy girlhood like a blanket fort. Gather all your blankets, toss them onto the living room floor, string up some fairy lights, and for the ultimate cozy look—pin up a sheer curtain overhead for your DIY home theatre so it really encloses you into your own other-worldly cinema. Bring potluck dishes OR something easier, hit the grocery store for your fave munchies. Watch a horror movie (scream therapy is real), binge a show, or throw on a classic rom-com while dramatically whispering, “I hope this love attacks us.”
5. We’re Not Really Strangers: Friendship Edition
This one card game might make you cry. Or laugh. Or cry-laugh. Either way, it deepens the friendship in a way few things do. You can do this with old friends, your mom, your dad, your sister, your brother, your dog, or new friends you want to build something with. This card game is designed to open up conversation and connection. Highly recommend setting the vibe right—maybe candles, tea, or a cozy space—and just seeing where the conversation takes you. (Tissues are a must.)
6. Night Picnic

Flip the classic day picnic into a dreamy night picnic. Bring bug spray, a good picnic blanket, cozy blanket, and maybe a little pop-up gazebo or canopy. The summer night breeze? Unmatched. There’s something about the night that just makes conversations deeper and stars look clearer. Pack your fave finger foods, bring a lantern or portable battery-powered fairy lights, and soak up the stillness.
7. Wellness Retreat or Spa Day

Okay, maybe not the most unique, but still essential. Many spas offer group packages or treatments that let you chat, relax, and get those knots worked out while catching up. Even a mini at-home retreat works—think facemasks, sound baths, journaling, and foot soaks. Calm spirits, clear skin, aligned energy with the gals.
8. Cat Café Visit

If available in your city, visiting a cat café is the perfect fusion of serotonin and caffeine. You get to pour your love into sweet fur babies and possibly find a new best friend to adopt (I fully support the path to being a crazy cat lady). Order your fave drink and soak in the calming chaos that only cats can deliver.
9. Drunk Baking Night

Pick a simple recipe like cupcakes or cookies, pour the tequila, make the cute cocktails, and let the chaos begin. Play games like Never Have I Ever while baking and see how long it takes before someone accidentally pours tequila into the batter (honestly, might be delicious?). Whether the pastries succeed or fail, the memories will be golden.. or black(out).
10. Group Vision Boards

A recent gf rec that I loved. Bring out the glue sticks, cut-out magazines, and poster boards. Talk about your dreams, life goals, and everything in between. I’m personally adding a group photo to mine because I want these girls in my life forever. This is such a heart-filling activity that makes space for laughter, support, and seeing your friends in a new light.
If you’re not into the ol’ glue-and-paste method (totally valid), I recommend using Canva. You can easily pull your favorite images from Pinterest and just copy and paste them into a cute collage. Easy, creative, and still just as meaningful.
11. Bestie Scrapbook

Collect all the cute memories you’ve had with your close gal pals—think polaroids, printed iPhone pics, ticket stubs, little notes from one another—and turn them into something beautiful together. Head to your local craft store or pre-order an empty photo album (I recommend ones with open binder rings or spiral bindings for easier organizing). Then, set a date, gather around the table with some scissors, stickers, washi tape, and glue sticks, and start creating a scrapbook filled with the best highlights of your friendship. This activity is cozy, creative, and a total time warp—in the best way. You’ll be so immersed in designing and storytelling, the snacks will probably be forgotten (but still, bring snacks). This activity makes for the sweetest keepsake to flip through over the years as you all grow old together.
Tip: If you can’t find the cut outs you need from magazines, just use Pinterest or wherever you find your inspo. Then copy and paste it in Canva, re-arrange, remove background (pro version), and then print it out, cut it, and glue! This will minimize the dreadful time of going through one too many pages when you already have something pinned that fits your exact idea.

Whether you’re chasing laughs, healing your inner child, or just looking for ways to connect more deeply, these activities are about celebrating sisterhood in all its forms. The best part? It’s not about how fancy the plan is—it’s about the vibe, the intention, and who you’re with. So grab your girls, pick one (or all) of these ideas, and let the memories unfold. Spring and summer were made for these moments.
Which one are you doing first?
